BLAIR MCKENZIE NAMED AS 2021 DICK AND LINDA BATTI SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT

Blair McKenzie of Madisonville has been named recipient of the Louisiana Golf Association’s Dick and Linda Batti Scholarship for 2021. The $1,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving female high school senior. The LGA Batti Scholarship was established to assist young female golfers from Louisiana and help with their higher education expenses. The Scholarship will be presented to Blair on July 6, 2021 at the 56th LGA Girls’ Junior Amateur Pre-Championship dinner at Ellendale Country Club in Houma.

McKenzie will graduate from Mandeville High School next month, and she will continue her education and golf career at Loyola University in New Orleans this fall. “I am extremely thankful for the Batti scholarship presented to me by the LGA. Golf has shaped who I am today and it is gratifying to be recognized for the journey I have taken. I am excited to use this scholarship to further my golf career and fulfill my dream of playing golf at Loyola University in New Orleans. I just want to thank my family for their support and the LGA for giving me this great opportunity,” said McKenzie.

Established in 1920, The Louisiana Golf Association is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to fostering the enhancement and expansion of amateur golf through the development of member and information services, the promotion of opportunities for all who want to play, and the protection of the game’s integrity and valued traditions. The LGA’s membership is comprised of approximately 90 Member Clubs and 14,000 individual members.
