SARAH MERAL AND LIZA LAPEYRE LEAD LGA WOMEN’S FOUR-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Sarah Meral of Abita Springs and Liza Lapeyre of New Orleans carded an incredible round of nine-under par 63 to lead by seven strokes at The Atchafalaya Golf Course. Lapeyre had four birdies and an eagle for the side while, Meral contributed with three birdies of her own. Christina Popp and Lauren Aillet of Lafayette shot a two-under 70 to finish the first round in a tie for second with Fiona Marks and Ali Walden of New Orleans.

 

The LGA also conducts a Net division in its Women’s Four-Ball Championship in which all teams were pre-flighted based upon the October 1, 2020 World Handicap System revision. Per the USGA recommendations for players in a four-ball stroke play competition, course handicaps were adjusted to a 95% handicap allowance. Sarah Meral and Liza Lapeyre lead Fiona Marks and Ali Walden of New Orleans by one stroke at six-under par 66 in First Flight. Other Flights through 18 holes:

It was a picture-perfect day in Patterson, with temperatures reaching the upper 70s. The Atchafalaya Golf Course played to a par of 72 at approximately 5,400 yards on Saturday. Teams were repaired for the final round based on first round scores. Starting times will begin on the first tee at 7:30 AM on Wednesday.
