The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour member spotlight is a monthly article highlighting the strong talent in our state.
Our November junior golfer to be featured is Sarah Knight of Sterlington. Sarah is a rising senior at Ouachita Christian School, and has been a member of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour (LJGT) since its inception in 2019. Sarah won the 2021 Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball with partner Sarah Meral, the LJGT at Querbes Park, and the LJGT Tour Championship. She was also runner-up at the David Toms Championship and the Louisiana Girls’ Junior Championship. All of this helped lead her to be the 2021 LJGT Player of the Year. Sarah has signed to continue her golf journey at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) after high school.
Here is our Q&A with Sarah:
What is your favorite golf memory?
My favorite golf memory is definitely the 2021 Sam Burns Four-Ball. Winning it with Sarah Meral was great, and getting all of our families to go eat and hang out made it even better. It was also on my 17th birthday so that was pretty cool.
If you were a golf club, which club would you be and why?
I would definitely be a driver because its my fav in the bag.
What is your dream golf course to play?
I don’t really have a dream golf course to play, but my favorite one is definitely TPC Louisiana because I love alligators, and they are all over the course there.
Along with yourself, who would be in your ideal golf foursome?
Me, Nelly Korda, Jessica Korda, and Lydia Ko.
Favorite PGA or LPGA player?
Nelly Korda 100%
What sport would you play if you did not play golf?
I would play softball and basketball.

The Legend of Bagger Vance

What is your favorite subject in school?
My favorite subject is math, which is currently statistics.
