Lake Charles Country Club Set to Host Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Championship

Lake Charles, LA. – October 1, 2021

The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour season will be coming to a close this weekend at Lake Charles Country Club. This will be the first Tour Championship since 2019. The 2020 Tour Championship at Lake Charles Country Club was cancelled to due Hurricane Laura. This is the strongest field we have seen all year as players look to make a final push for the LJGT Player of the Year award. Points that are awarded at the Tour Championship are worth twice as much as a regular event giving players an opportunity to make a big leap in the standings.

All three leaders in the Player of the Year standings are teeing it up this weekend in hopes of securing the season long award. Noah McWilliams of Benton leads the race in the Overall Boy’s POY standings with 400 points. Sarah Knight of Sterlington leads with 645 points in the Overall Girl’s POY race. Hudson Greene of Bossier City has a narrow lead of 7.5 points over Slayte Guidry of Logansport in the Boy’s 11-13 standings. This should be an exciting end to the third year of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour.

Registration for 2022 Louisiana Junior Golf Tour membership is set to open on November 1, 2021.
