Julie Harrison and Mary Lynn Stuart Lead Suspended LGA Women’s Senior Amateur Championship

Kinder, Louisiana    September 19, 2019

Julie Harrison of Baton Rouge and Mary Lynn Stuart lead the suspended LGA Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Koasati Pines. Harrison and Stuart were in the first group of the day, and they started their round at 10:00 AM following a two-and-a-half-hour delay due to the severe weather created by Tropical Storm Imelda. All of the LGA Women’s Senior competitors showcased a tremendous amount of fortitude playing through difficult weather conditions on Thursday morning. Play was suspended at 12:34 PM due to a dangerous situation. The First Round of competition will resume tomorrow morning, Friday, September 20 at 8 AM. The Championship will be shortened to 18-holes as a result.

After nine rain-soaked holes, Harrison and Stuart managed to grind out two over-par 38’s before the suspension of play. In a tie for third sits Pam Moore of Monroe (+5 thru 9-holes) and Bastrop’s Trena Andrews (+5 thru 4). The tight leaderboard should make for an exciting finish on Friday.

Koasati Pines at Coushatta played to a par 72 at 5,228 yards.
