ANDREW BARRECA AND GRAYSON GLORIOSO LEAD 38th LOUISIANA 4-BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Andrew Barreca of New Orleans and Grayson Glorioso of Metairie fired a nine-under par 63 on Saturday at TPC Louisiana.  The Big Easy duo hold a one-shot lead over two other teams, Jake Marler of Shreveport / Eli Ortego of Broussard and Kyle Bennet of Zachary / Grayson Gilbert of Monroe.  Barreca and Glorioso teed off in the last group of the morning wave at 9:20 AM (#10).  It was a true team effort as  Barreca carded four birdies (holes 2, 9, 11, and 15) and Glorioso added three birdies in a row on holes 6, 7, and 8 and again on holes 16 and 17. Their scorecard was blemish free with zero bogeys.  “We played well,” said Glorioso.  “I was proud of the way we finished.”

There is a three-way tie at six-under par 66 between: Dante Caldera of Greenwell Springs and Eric Hoffman of Denham Springs, Patrick Christovich of New Orleans and Andrew Noto of Metairie, and Josh Fullilove of Larose and Colin Troxler of Luling.  

It was a picture-perfect day on the Westbank, with clear skies and temperatures reaching the low 90s and a heat index of 103 degrees.  The Tom Fazio designed TPC Louisiana drew rave reviews from competitors.  The course played to a par of 72 at approximately 6,824 yards on Saturday.  Golf Course Superintendent Tyler McCool and his crew have the course in championship condition. The greens were double cut and rolled and are smooth and 11.5 on the stimpmeter. Starting times will begin off the first tee and tenth tees at 7:30 AM on Sunday.
