Three shots behind is a three-way tie for second between Derby Everson of Shreveport, Reed Winkler of Shreveport, and Alexander Hammonds of Texarkana, Texas. Also in a three-way for fifth overall at four-over par is Eli Knighton of Shreveport, Micah Biguenet of Covington, and Owen Lejeune of Baton Rouge.
In the Overall Girls’ division, Abigail McWilliams from Benton is the round leader after finishing at 6-over par, with two double bogeys and two bogeys. Morgan Goudeau of Pineville is currently sitting in second at 19-over par. Finishing in third after the first 18-holes is Kate Boersma of Ruston at 24-over par.
In the Overall Boys’ division, Maddox Mowad from Monroe dominated after finishing his first 18 holes of the championship at six-under par, shooting a 66. Mowad was nearly flawless, carding one birdie and one bogey on the front nine before tearing up the back nine with birdies on holes 10 and 14 through 17. Trailing by five strokes at one-under par is Parker Greene of Mandeville, who made the shot of the day with an eagle on hole 14. In third place at even par is Drew Prieto of Baton Rouge, who had a bogey-free back nine and finished his round with a birdie on 18.
