44 players competed in the Super Senior division and 82 plyers competed in the Overall Division of the first round of the 37th Louisiana Senior Four-Ball Championship held at Beaver Creek Golf Course in Zachary, Louisiana. Tee times began at 7:30 AM off of hole one this morning. The course played to a par 72 at 6,543 yards for the Overall Division and 5,858 yards in the Super Senior Division.
Zachary, LA – During the first round of the 37th Louisiana Senior Four-Ball Championship, all of our senior golfers enjoyed a perfect day on the course at Beaver Creek Golf Course, with impressive scores setting the stage for an exciting tournament.
Leading the Super Senior Division at 6-under par are Hal Wright of Shreveport and Wade Botts of Marksville. This dynamic duo not only recorded six birdies but also went bogey-free during the first round, giving them the top spot. Just one shot behind, at 5-under par, are John Hernandez of St. Amant and Pat Lambert of Gonzales. Their round included six birdies and one bogey, highlighted by a flawless bogey-free front nine. Three teams are tied for third at 4-under par: Bill Land and Darrell Benoit of Lafayette, Joe Ellis Michael of Homer and Scott Morgan of Benton, and Frank Brame and Lewis Lauve of Alexandria.
In the Overall Division, Robby McWilliams of Benton and Rod Baronet of Lecompte lead the way with an impressive 7-under par, carding seven birdies—three on the front nine and four on the back. Tied for second at 6-under par are Bart Dornier of Metairie and Ken Buchan of Monroe, along with Philip Schmitt and Scott Sterling of Baton Rouge. Close behind in a tie for fourth at 5-under par are Billy Joe Tolliver of St. Gabriel and Burt Allen of Shreveport, as well as Eric Lavespere of Monroe and Billy Gabbert of Sulphur, and Bret and Clay Pinson of Baton Rouge and Saint Francisville.
