A first look into the 6th Annual Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball Championship held at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana beginning on Saturday, February 25, 2024.

100 players will compete in the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour’s 6th Annual Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball Championship.  Saturday morning tee times will begin at 9:00 AM off the 1st and 10th tee. The course will play to a par 72 at 6,700 yards for the Overall Boys Division and approximately 5,700 yards for the Overall Girls and Boys 11-13 Division.

Choudrant, Louisiana – The anticipation builds as the Sixth Annual Sam Burns Four-Ball Championship presented by Origin Bank prepares to tee off at Squire Creek Country Club on February 24th, marking the first major event of the 2024 season of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour. Hosted by PGA Tour professional, Sam Burns, this championship stands as a beacon of support for junior golfers, exemplifying Burns’ unwavering commitment to cultivating the next generation of golfing talent.

Sam Burns, whose meteoric rise on the PGA Tour has captured the hearts of fans worldwide, remains a steadfast advocate for junior golf in his home state of Louisiana. With five monumental PGA Tour victories from 2021-2023 and his recent participation in the 2022 Presidents Cup and 2023 Ryder Cup, Burns continues to inspire and mentor young golfers in the state of Louisiana and around the country. Currently ranked 18th in the world, his presence at the Championship promises an electrifying atmosphere as he spectates and interacts with some of the rising stars of Louisiana. 

The roster for this year’s Championship is filled with talent, showcasing some of the most promising junior golfers from Louisiana alongside competitors hailing from other states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi, and Texas. Among the notable participants are the 2023 Overall Boys’ defending champions, Connor Cassano (Shreveport, LA) and Jacob Blanton (West Point, MS) who are looking to repeat. The 2023 Girls’ Division champions, Evelynn Artieta (Denham Springs, LA) and Maci Williams (Brusly, LA) are also back to defend their title. In the Boys’ 11-13 Division, defending champions Hudson Greene (Bossier City, LA) and Slayte Guidry (Shreveport, LA) have moved up a division, so the race for Boys’ 11-13 division is wide open. Among those already named, there are also other players looking to showcase their talents at Squire Creek Country Club this weekend, including those who have already committed to playing collegiate golf:
