Lafayette, Louisiana – Our July Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the Month is Mrs. Lexie Crappel,. Residing in Slidell, Louisiana, Lexie is currently a student at Northshore High School. Lexie recently won third place in the LJGT at the Farm tournament. We had the privilege of conducting an interview with Crappel, where she shared insights into her golf success. Here are her responses!
What is you favorite golf course you have played so far?
TPC Sawgrass
What college do you plan on attending?
My dream college is Boston University!
If you could play golf with anyone in the world, who would you pick?
He’s not with us anymore, but I would have to say my grandpa because he was a avid golfer and we were super close.
When did you start playing golf?
Summer of 2020, so I was 13 years old
What inspired you to take up the game?
My dad and grandpa!
What is your favorite memory from playing golf?
Winning state runner up last year with my teammates.
Describe your pre-round routine.
I stretch, range, chip, then putt.
Any superstitions or rituals before a tournament?
None.
What’s your go-to club in a challenging situation?
5-wood
What is your dream course to play?
St. Andrews, Scotland
If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?
A putter or a wedge because they are very important.
What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you “tournament ready”?
A blueberry muffin and watermelon
Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?
I would love to play with Nelly Korda
What advice would you give to aspiring young golfers?
Learn how to control your emotions and love the game.
Favorite hobbies or activities besides golf?
Reading and hanging out with friends.
Write one random fact about yourself
I use to do competitive acro gymnastics and I won state in 2018.
