LJGT July Player of the Month: Evelynn Artieta

Our July Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the month is Miss Evelynn Artieta. Evelynn is from Denham Springs, Louisiana and is an incoming freshman at Walker High School.   She has been a member of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour(LJGT) since its inception in 2019. She had a great year, winning the Sam Burns Junior Four-Ball with partner Maci Williams and was a semi-finalist in the 94th Louisiana Women’s Amateur. We got the chance to ask Evelynn some questions pertaining to her succession in golf and these were her answers!

If you could play golf with anyone in the world, who would you pick and why?

I would pick Rory McIlroy because he’s my favorite golfer, and I have looked up to him since I started junior camps.

What is your favorite memory from playing golf?

I would have to say winning the 5th Annual Sam Burns Junior Four Ball with Maci Williams while it was our first time competing in it!

If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?

I’d be a driver because it is my favorite club.

What is your dream course to play?

Augusta National

What is your go-to snack or food to get you “tournament ready”?

Pickles, Fruit, Z Bars, and my absolute FAVORITE candy Nerds Gummy Clusters!

Who is someone you love to play golf with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?

Maci Williams and Karstyn Altese

Evelynn also added the following comment, “I’m really glad that I started playing golf and that I get to play in LGA and LJGT tournaments.  I’m really looking forward to what’s ahead.

The Louisiana Golf Association and Louisiana Junior Golf Tour are proud to spotlight the amazing young talent that plays on our tour and see them succeed through future endeavors.
