LJGT January Player of the Month: Kyle Traub

Our January Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the Month is Mr. Kyle Traub. Residing in Metairie, Louisiana, Kyle is currently a student at Brother Martin High School. Throughout the 2023 season, he demonstrated remarkable dedication as one of our most active LJGT members, participating in five tournaments over the summer and securing a top 15 position within three out of the five tournaments. Kyle recently committed to play college golf at Nicholls State University and we had the privilege of conducting an interview with Traub, where he shared insights into his success. Here are his responses!

What is you favorite golf course you have played so far?

If you could play golf with anyone in the world, who would you pick?

John Daly

When did you start playing golf?

Started playing around 6 for fun. And then competitively around 12

What is your favorite memory from playing golf?

5 birdies in a row in the Final Round of the LA Jr Am to jump to third place!!

Describe your pre-round routine.

I eat a bowl of pasta because carbs are the first source of energy to our muscles

Any superstitions or rituals before a tournament?

I listen to one particular song that gets me amped up.

What is your dream course to play?

Whistling Straits

What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you “tournament ready”?

Uncrustables or Pop Tarts

Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?

What advice would you give to aspiring young golfers?

Enjoy these moments of Junior Golf, Don’t let one ruin your whole mood about golf, just keep going forward.
