Greene Claims Victory During Final Round Of LJGT at Calvert Crossing

64 players competed in the first round of the Louisiana Junior Golf Tour’s tournament held at Calvert Crossing Golf Club. Tee times began this morning at 7:30 AM off the 1st tee. The course played to a par 72 at 6,655 yards for the Overall Boys Division and approximately 5,693 yards for the Overall Girls and Boys 11-13 Division.

Calhoun, Louisiana – The Louisiana Junior Golf Tour (LJGT) at Calvert Crossing concluded today with a thrilling final round in the Overall Boys’ 11-13 division. Talented young golfers showcased their skills in a closely contested tournament. Leading the pack was Grey Ramsey from Choudrant, class of 2030, who claimed the top spot with a total score of +5. Ramsey’s consistent play over the two days, scoring 73 on the first day and 76 on the second, resulted in a combined score of 149. His solid performance under pressure secured his victory by a margin of two strokes.

Close on his heels was Crew Galambos from Shreveport, who finished in second place with a total score of +7. Galambos matched Ramsey’s second-day score of 76 after an initial round of 75, totaling 151 for the tournament. His competitive spirit was evident throughout the rounds.

Taking third place was Owen Lejeune from Baton Rouge, who ended the tournament with a total score of +9. Lejeune started strong with a 74 in the first round but faced challenges in the second round, finishing with a 79. His overall score of 153 showcased his potential and determination.

In the Girls’ 11-13 division, Evelynn Artieta from Denham Springs, class of 2027, won in a dramatic finish. Both Artieta and Maci Williams from Brusly, class of 2028, tied with a total score of +10 at the end of regulation play, both scoring 154 over two rounds. They proceeded to a playoff on hole one, where Artieta clinched the victory with a birdie. Kate Boersma from Ruston, class of 2026, finished in third place with a total score of +30.

In the Overall Boys’ division, Parker Greene from Mandeville, class of 2028, took the top spot with an impressive total score of -1. Greene’s rounds of 73 and 70 resulted in a combined score of 143, securing his victory. Slayte Guidry from Shreveport, and Hudson Greene from Bossier City, tied for second place with total scores of +1. Guidry’s rounds were 73 and 72, while Greene’s rounds were 74 and 71, both finishing with a combined score of 145.
