The 40th Louisiana Four-Ball Championship kicked off today at Mallard Golf Club and as the round concluded, two teams emerged as co-leaders, finishing with an impressive score of 10 under par 62 each. Kyle Bennett and Brady Bennett of Zachary and Josh Fullilove of Larose and Ryan Fulton of Crowley, both demonstrated their mastery of the game, each positioning themselves at the top of the leaderboard.
As a team, the Bennett brothers carded in 10 birdies and limited themselves to only 2 bogeys during the first round. Kyle Bennett’s impressive play and Brady Bennett’s solid performance, combined for a remarkable round. In equally impressive fashion, Fullilove and Fulton had a strong round. This power duo brought in 13 birdies and an eagle all while only giving up one bogey.
The first round of the championship was not without its challenges, as inclement weather forced a temporary delay in play. At 2:03 pm, due to adverse weather conditions, all play was suspended to ensure the safety of the participants.
