Brame, a 75-year-old native of Alexandria, surpassed expectations by shooting seven strokes under his age, a remarkable accomplishment. A dramatic two-hole playoff unfolded between Scobel and runner-up Randy Goff of St. Francisville on holes #1 and #18 at Ellendale Country Club. After a tied first playoff hole, Scobel clinched victory with a spectacular 30-foot downhill putt on the #18 green, leaving even his opponent speechless. In a post-round interview, Scobel attributed his success to luck and prior practice, noting that he had encountered a similar putt during his practice round. Prior to the playoff, both Scobel and Goff had consistently matched rounds of 71 and 74 throughout the championship, placing them at the top of the leaderboard. Wade Botts of Marksville secured third place, concluding his final round at 3 over-par for the championship.

In the second round of the Overall Championship division, leading the way tied at the top of the leaderboard are Robby McWilliams of Benton and Todd Doss of Mandeville, both shooting a round to put them at 4-under par for the championship. McWilliams had a phenomenal round today, going bogey-free on the back nine and carding 6 birdies throughout his second round.
