Noto and Weant Lead the First Round of the 32nd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship

154 players competed in the first round of the 32nd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship held at Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana. Tee times began this morning at 7:30 AM off the 1st and 10th tee. The course played to a par 72 at 6839 yards.

 

Choudrant, LAAndrew Noto of Metairie and Nathan Weant of Bastrop are leading after the first round of the 32nd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship, both carding scores of five-under par. Noto’s round included six birdies, with one bogey on the front nine and a bogey-free back nine. Weant, meanwhile, posted one bogey and three birdies on his front nine, followed by an eagle, two more birdies, and one bogey on the back nine

Tied for third place are John Humphries of Woodworth and Kyle Buffolino of Ruston, both with a score of three-under par. Humphries had a challenging front nine with three bogeys and one birdie, but he impressively finished with a bogey-free back nine with five birdies. Meanwhile, Buffolino started off strong with a bogey free front nine with two birdies and added in an eagle, one birdie, and two bogeys on the back nine.

The 32nd Louisiana Mid-Amateur Championship is being held at the beautifully maintained Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, LA. Thanks to the diligent efforts of the grounds crew, the course is in exceptional condition, providing an excellent playing field for these amateur golfers.
