LJGT September Player of the Month: Landon Lotz

Lafayette, Louisiana – Our September Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the Month is Mr. Landon Lotz. Residing in Slidell, Louisiana, Landon is currently a student at First Baptist Christian School. Landon recently won the 10-11 Division in the 67th Louisiana Junior Amateur Championship. We had the privilege of conducting an interview with Lotz, where he shared insights into his golf success. Here are his responses!

What is you favorite golf course you have played so far?

Pinehurst No. 4

What college do you plan on attending?

Whichever college will have me on their team

If you could play golf with anyone in the world, who would you pick?

Scottie Scheffler because I have similar foot action as he does

When did you start playing golf?

2021

What inspired you to take up the game?

My dad

What is your favorite memory from playing golf?

Winning this year’s Junior Am Championship for my age group

Describe your pre-round routine.

I grab some food, putt, chip and hit practice balls. then I head back to the putting green for a few minutes before tee time.

Any superstitions or rituals before a tournament?

No.

What’s your go-to club in a challenging situation?

8-Iron

What is your dream course to play?

Augusta National

If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?

Driver because I like to hit bombs!

What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you “tournament ready”?

Peanut butter crackers

Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?

My dad and brother

What advice would you give to aspiring young golfers?

Never give up and have fun!

Favorite hobbies or activities besides golf?

Basketball

I have enjoyed playing on the LJGT tour this year. I have met a lot of new friends and I really enjoy the competition. I look forward to playing the LJGT for many years to come!
