We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Jace for an exclusive interview, where he shared valuable insights into his journey and success in golf. Check out his inspiring responses below!

2018

What inspired you to take up the game?

My best friend got me to play it and since then I haven’t stopped.

What is your favorite memory from playing golf?

Shooting my career low at my home course with my dad and my brother.

Describe your pre-round routine.

I go to the putting green first to get a feel , and then I go to the driving range to get loose,. Usually I got back to the putting green to make sure I’m right on my speed and hit a few breaking putts to get a feel of the slope.

Any superstitions or rituals before a tournament?

No.

What’s your go-to club in a challenging situation?

50 degree

What is your dream course to play?

Augusta National

If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?

I would be a driver because I like booming it.

What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you “tournament ready”?

Trail Mix

Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?

My friend and teammate Cole Masters

What advice would you give to aspiring young golfers?

I would tell them this sport is like no other. You will have good days and you will have bad days but that shouldn’t discourage you from playing the game . You may be playing with other people but you are playing yourself so you should never compare yourself to other people . For the longest time I never thought I’d be good at this sport and to the best golfers in the world I’m not good but I think I’m good enough and that’s all that matters. If you like the game you should continue playing it no matter what other people think.

Favorite hobbies or activities besides golf?

I like to hunt and play video games

Write one random fact about yourself

I drive a Jeep

Take a moment to share a message with fellow LJGT players, fans, and supporters.

To my fellow LJGT players I would say keep up the work , there are some really good golfers in this state and I’m lucky to meet and play with me so many amazing people , and to my supporters I would say thank you for your encouragement through hard times , I don’t think I would still be playing this game if it wasn’t for my parents . They have given me all the support I could ever need and more. They take me to all my tournaments and have been a big impact on who I am as a golfer and a person. And I would like to say thank you for all the memories throughout this journey!

The Louisiana Golf Association and Louisiana Junior Golf Tour are proud to spotlight the amazing young talent that plays on our tour and see them succeed through future endeavors.
