Lafayette, Louisiana – Our May Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the Month is Mrs. Ashlyn Crimmins. Residing in Covington, Louisiana, Ashlyn is currently a student at Archbishop Hannan High School. Ashlyn has been an avid player on the tour and was at the top of the leaderboard for many tournaments last season! We had the privilege of conducting an interview with Crimmins, where she shared insights into her golf success. Here are her responses!
What is you favorite golf course you have played so far?
The Ole Miss Golf Course
What college do you plan on attending?
Mississippi State University
If you could play golf with anyone in the world, who would you pick?
Jordan Spieth, because he is my favorite golfer and like the way he handles himself on/off the course.
When did you start playing golf?
9 years old
What inspired you to take up the game?
My dad
What is your favorite memory from playing golf?
Traveling for tournaments during the summer and helping with junior golf camps.
Describe your pre-round routine.
I go to the range, chip, then putt.
Any superstitions or rituals before a tournament?
I ask someone who I’m close with to pick what color tee I should play with.
What’s your go-to club in a challenging situation?
56 degree wedge
What is your dream course to play?
Augusta National
If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?
I would be the driver because its a unique club unlike others in your golf bag.
What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you “tournament ready”?
Peanut butter crackers
Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?
I like to play against my dad or grandpa because it challenges me to push harder.
What advice would you give to aspiring young golfers?
Take one shot at a time. If you had a bad hole, just keep grinding out and let your mind be where your feet are.
Favorite hobbies or activities besides golf?
Hanging out with friends/ family and playing pickleball.

I lived in Florida for 12 years.

The LJGT golf tournaments have helped me build so many friendships throughout the years, and has helped me improve my game through the competitive tournaments they host!
