LJGT December Player of the Month: Mason Comeaux

Lafayette, Louisiana – We are thrilled to announce that our December Louisiana Junior Golf Tour Player of the Month is Mason Comeaux! A resident of Brusly, Louisiana, Mason is a student at Brusly High School. Comeaux recently committed to the University of Louisiana at Monroe to continue his golf career. We recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Mason for an exclusive interview, where he shared valuable insights into his journey and success in golf. Check out his inspiring responses below!

What is you favorite golf course you have played so far?

Squire Creek Country Club

If you could play golf with anyone in the world, who would you pick?

My dad- Jory Comeaux

When did you start playing golf?

When I was 12

What inspired you to take up the game?

I always liked watching my dad play

What is your favorite memory from playing golf?

Winning the club championship at my home course

Describe your pre-round routine.

I get to the course about an hour early, putt for 20 mins, hit balls for 20 mins, then go make a few five footers before heading to the first tee

Any superstitions or rituals before a tournament?

No.

What’s your go-to club in a challenging situation?

Off the tee would be 3 iron

What is your dream course to play?

Augusta National

If you were a golf club, which would you be and why?

My 7 iron because I feel like it’s the most consistent club in everyone’s bag

What is your go-to snack and/or food/meal to get you “tournament ready”?

I don’t like to eat that much when I play but it would have to be peanut butter crackers

Who is someone you love to play with or against because you know it will help improve your golf game?

The ex club champ at our course Clayton Brown

What advice would you give to aspiring young golfers?

To keep working and get the short game down first

Favorite hobbies or activities besides golf?

Basketball, baseball, and fishing

I have two siblings that were always D1 athletes
