Augustin Gros Wins at 2024 LJGT Tour Championship, Leading a Weekend of Exciting Finishes

A look into the final round of the 2024 LJGT Tour Championship held at Ellendale Country Club in Houma, Louisiana on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

60 players competed in the first round of the 2024 LJGT Tour Championship held at Ellendale Country Club. Tee times began this morning at 7:30 AM off the 1st tee. The course played to a par 72 at 6,644 yards for the Overall Boys Division and approximately 5,734 yards for the Overall Girls and Boys 11-13 Division.

Houma, LA – The 2024 Louisiana Junior Golf Tour (LJGT) wrapped up its season with a successful finale at the Tour Championship. Junior golfers from across the state competed for Player of the Year honors, showcasing the bright future of golf in Louisiana.

In the 11-13 Boys’ division, Augustin Gros of Metairie took home the Tour Championship title, shooting a final-round one-under par 71 to finish the tournament at one-under overall. His solid round featured three birdies and two bogeys. Close behind was Grey Ramsey of Choudrant, who finished just one stroke back with rounds of 70 and 74, securing second place. Eli Knighton of Shreveport rounded out the top three at one-over par.

Evelynn Artieta of Denham Springs dominated in the Girls’ competition, carding rounds of 68-73 (141) to win by seven strokes over Maci Williams of Brusly. Artieta’s impressive performance included eight birdies over 36 holes to secure her victory. Jade Neves of New Orleans finished third at eight-over par.

The Boys’ 13-18 competition saw an intense battle for the title, with a constantly shifting leaderboard throughout the day. Kevin Zheng of Baton Rouge emerged victorious, posting an even-par 72 in his final round. His eventful round included five bogeys and three birdies. Bennett Lanasa of Mandeville and Ben Blanco of Broussard tied for second at one-over par 73. In a scorecard playoff, Lanasa earned the runner-up spot with his final-round 72, while Blanco claimed third place.

Slayte Guidry of Shreveport captured the win in the Boys’ 15 and Under group, finishing at five-over par with a final-round 71. Hudson Greene of Bossier City also finished at five-over par, taking second place, while Wayne Kabrich of Mandeville finished third at seven-over par.
