LGA CLUB TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP TO BE HELD APRIL 24-25, 2010

March 2, 2010 -- Lafayette, LA -- The Links course at Pelican Point Golf Club in Gonzales will host the 2010 Louisiana Golf Association Club Team Championship the weekend of April 24-25.  This event will kick off the LGA’s 2010 schedule and will feature LGA Member Clubs competing in an extremely popular Ryder-Cup type event.

Entry forms are available for download at www.LGAgolf.org or by calling the LGA office at 337.265.3938.  The competition will feature six-person teams from LGA member clubs competing in Four-Ball play on Saturday and individual stroke play on Sunday.  For Saturday’s play each club will field three 2-man Four-Ball teams, with the best two of three scores counting as the club’s score for the day.  On Sunday, play will feature all individual stroke play, with four of the six team member’s scores counting.  With twice as many scores counting on Sunday, a club can come from far back in the pack and make a run at the title.

The camaraderie that is always a part of any team competition makes for a thoroughly enjoyable weekend.  The winning club will receive a beautiful crystal trophy for permanent display at their club while each Championship team member will also receive a keepsake crystal trophy.

Entry fee for the six-man team is $750 and includes a practice round and the two tournament rounds with all cart and range fees included.  Entry deadline is April 13, 2010.  The LGA will accept up to 32 teams and will allow more than one team per club if a club wishes to send multiple teams.
