April 16, 2010 -- Lafayette, LA -- In early 2010, the Louisiana Golf Association initiated a plan to promote its member clubs, both public and private, in a fashion that would accentuate the unique features of each golf course and community throughout the state.  We have chosen to title this effort ‘LGA Feature Club,’ and can be found at www.LGAgolf.org.  You can expect to see a slideshow of pictures from the Feature Club, which will provide a brief tour of the golf course, clubhouse, and other locations around the facility.  In addition, a course bio will cover the club’s history, relationship with the LGA, unique details about the golf course, and information regarding topics such as membership, dining, and community. 

The purpose of the LGA Feature Club is really two-tiered.  First, we appreciate the support of our member clubs and want to give back in every way possible.  This new program allows us to prominently display our gratitude to each club, one at a time.  Secondly, there are a lot of golf courses spread throughout the boot…well into the hundreds. As a result, Louisiana golfers may not be aware of some of the truly remarkable facilities that are just a short drive away. 

Our first Feature Club, Pelican Point Golf Club, was introduced on April 15, 2010.  Stay tuned for the next one, which will be revealed early summer.  If you are a member club representative and are interested in your facility being a future LGA Feature Club, please call our office at 337-265-3938.
