LGA Feature Club, TPC Louisiana:

The Louisiana Golf Association is excited to introduce the current Feature Club, TPC Louisiana.  This fantastic facility has been a LGA Member Club since it opened in 2004, and has since been the host of the State Amateur (Chris Wells, 2007) and State 4-Ball (Blake Kelley/Garrett Westbrook, 2009).  TPC Louisiana will also be the venue for the 2010 Senior Amateur Championship, which takes place August 19-21. 

TPC Louisiana also hosts the Zurich Classic, a PGA Tour event.  The current champion is Jason Bohn, who won by two strokes over Jeff Overton.  In 2011, the tournament is scheduled to begin on April 28 and conclude on May 1.  It is also important to mention that the club received notoriety from Golf World Business in 2009, by being named one of the Top 100 Golf Shops in America.  Their golf shop features a wide variety of merchandise with PGA Tour, Zurich Classic, TPC Louisiana, local sports franchises, and collegiate licensed apparel.   

PGA Tour players Steve Elkington and New Orleans native Kelly Gibson assisted architect Pete Dye with the design of this championship layout.  In 2007, Golf Digest gave the course a “4 ˝ star– Best Places to Play” rating.  After the course debuted in 2004, Golf Digest named it the “No. 4 Best Upscale Public Golf Course.”  Oh, and we might mention that TPC Louisiana is the home of the Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints!

Situated on 250 acres across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, the course features gently rolling hills, numerous wetlands areas, stately stands of cypress and oak trees, and five sets of tees on each hole. Part of the Audubon Golf Trail and a proud member of the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary program, TPC Louisiana provides golfers a picturesque, enjoyable challenge.
