May 17, 2012 — Lafayette, LA — The final field for the 2012 Louisiana Golf Association Amateur Championship is complete. Eight Qualifiers were held at various sites during the last two weeks. Of the 144 spots available for the Championship, 33 were occupied by exempt players. Those indivduals are now joined by 111 golfers with hopes of being crowned the next Louisiana Amateur Champion. The 2012 LGA Amateur Championship will be held June 7-10 at TPC Louisiana in New Orleans, site of the annual PGA Tour Zurich Classic.
LGA FEATURE CLUB – THE BLUFFS
May 1, 2012 — Lafayette, LA — We are pleased to introduce The Bluffs Country Club and Resort as our ninth installment of the LGA Feature Club. The Bluffs has been a valued supporter of the Louisiana Golf Association since its inception in 1988. The Palmer golf course has hosted numerous LGA Championships, as well as the SEC Conference Championship, United States Senior Challenge, and several other prestigious events.

RIVERLANDS G & CC TAKES TITLE IN 2012 LGA CLUB TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
April 29, 2012 — Kinder, LA — Riverlands Golf & Country Club of LaPlace had a two shot lead over OakWing Golf Club at the start of the final round of the 2012 Louisiana Golf Association Club Team Championship at Koasati Pines in Kinder. With only three scores under par posted in the entire field today, both Riverlands of LaPlace and OakWing of Alexandria battled hard throughout in an effort to win the 2012 title. In the end, the young guns on the Riverlands squad prevailed by four strokes. Their team total of ten under par 416 bested OakWing’s six under par 420.
REGISTRATION OPEN FOR LGA JUNIOR AMATEUR, FOUR-BALL, AND MID-AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIPS
April 3, 2012 — Lafayette, LA — Entry forms are now available for the 2012 LGA Junior Amateur, Four-Ball, and Mid-Amateur Championships. You may register online for any of these Championships via the “My LGA” portal on our homepage. This year’s venues include Links on the Bayou in Alexandria (Junior Am), the University Club in Baton Rouge (Four-Ball), and Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant (Mid-Am).
As is again the case with this year’s Amateur Championship, individuals that attempt to qualify for the Mid-Amateur Championship and are not successful will receive a $100 refund at the conclusion of the Championship.
